Macroeconomic analyses of the health economy

Health economic analyses

Our research work shows the comprehensive economic weight – the economic footprint – of the health industry on an international and national level, but also for individual federal states and districts.

The special feature of the Economic Footprint is that, within the framework of this concept, the interdependence of the health care industry with other sectors is taken into account and these are quantified and made comparable on the basis of “indirect” and “induced” radiative effects.

The manufacture and sale of pharmaceuticals, medical technology and medical products, as well as the associated research and development activities, are important elements of a comprehensive value chain that ensures the growth, employment and ultimately prosperity of a business location. This means that health is no longer viewed only from a cost perspective, but opens up new facts and arguments in communication with a wide variety of stakeholders.
