Economic Significance of the Cluster - The Healthcare Industry in Hamburg
Within the framework of this research project, the healthcare industry in Hamburg was examined regarding its effects on growth and employment. Starting point and basic data basis were the results of the Gesundheitswirtschaftliche Gesamtrechnung (GGR) of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). The study provides key economic indicators such as gross value added and employment figures for the healthcare industry and its subsectors. In addition, the study quantifies the spillover effects of the sector’s activities on the overall economy in Germany and Hamburg.
